Crime Prevention meeting was well attended

The Fallbrook Citizens’ Crime Prevention Committee appreciated the wide range of representation from the community who participated in their meeting about protecting our children from violent sexual predators.

Attendees included Dr. Dale Mitchell, District School Superintendent of Fallbrook Union High School, along with clergy representatives Father Don Kroeger, Christ Church; Pastor Tim Zemanek, Living Waters Christian Fellowship; Chaplain Ron Ritter, (Ret.) Zion Lutheran Church’s grief counselor; also, Carmen Amigon, Community Housing Works’ Director; Louis McLain, Camp Pendleton’s off-base housing representative and apartment owners like Linda Holtz.

We appreciated NBC 7/39 KNSD-TV taping our entire presentation of expert speakers and doing a follow-up segment on their late night news cast. Outstanding speakers Tom Rogers, District Director, Office of Senator Dennis Hollingsworth; Deputy District Attorney, Kelly Mok, Office of S.D. County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis; Kelly Sherman, Press Secretary, Office of Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, helped us understand what we must do to keep our children safe..

This meeting was dedicated to the memory of Chelsea King and Amber Dubois. Chelsea went missing and was murdered three months prior to our meeting. We, the people, need to unite and be a model for other communities. As voters, our voices must be heard in order to ensure our Senators and Congressmen will work hard to strengthen the sexual predator laws and rid them of loopholes.
