Fallbrook Quilt Guild presents scholarship

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Quilt Guild, at its June 3 meeting presented a scholarship to Kelli Wiley, a graduating senior of Fallbrook High School. The scholarship was based on a student’s academics, essays, financial need and presentation of artistic skills.

The quilt was displayed in Washington DC in the Capitol Mall commemorating children who had suffered with cancer.

Wiley herself was a cancer patient when she was four. She plans to further her artistic skills by attending Elegant International College in Los Angeles.

Money for scholarships was earned by selling raffle tickets for the annual Opportunity Quilt. This year’s quilt, named “Village Fans,” was won by Fallbrook resident Ann Ondraka who is a new member of the Guild.
