Learn about horse manure composting

RAINBOW - Don’t know what to do with horse manure? A free workshop will be held June 19 at a horse and goat property in Rainbow for individuals to learn how to save money by properly composting their horse manure.

It is very costly to have manure hauled away so this workshop will teach how to reduce the volume of manure by 50% and turn it into a wonderfully useful product for garden and landscape.

The workshop will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and will include a presentation by Dr. Valerie Mellano, from the UCCE’s Farm and Home Advisor’s Office, and a walking tour of the horse and goat property.

The workshop location is 10 minutes from the Mission Road exit off Interstate 15. To RSVP and get directions to the workshop site, please contact Bethany Principe at (760) 728-1332 or [email protected].
