Students conclude seminary study

FALLBROOK – Youth in grades 9 through 12, ages 14-18, are offered a four-year course of study through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), also known as Early Morning Gospel Instruction, or Seminary.

A group of local youth completed their studies this year, after getting up every morning at 5 a.m. to attend the classes on religious instruction.

The course includes covering a different book of scripture each year, including The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Book of Mormom, and The Doctrine and Covenants.

Each individual class is approximately 50 minutes long and most take place at the building located on Stage Coach Lane.

LDS Seminary, which began in the church in 1912, is a place for extended spiritual education beyond the Sunday school instruction offered by most Christian churches.
