Free summer workshops offered for adults at Fallbrook Library

FALLBROOK – People are invited to see, touch and smell some great drought tolerant plants such as Salvias and other California natives at a free lecture on July 13 at Fallbrook Library. At that time, landscape designer Doug Kalal will present 30 Great Drought Tolerant Plants for Your Garden, a landscape design workshop, a 50-minute event featuring gorgeous photos, flowers, foliage, and fun tales from the field.

Kalal has been designing gardens and giving public lectures for five years. A graduate of the renowned horticulture program at Cuyamaca College, Kalal believes that using drought tolerant plants not only reduces water usage but also cuts on down on carbon emissions by eliminating the need for mowing and trimming grass. Kalal loves to introduce these plants to people because they also are beneficial to birds and butterflies.

For more information or to register for this or any of the other free summer adult crafts and workshops offered at the Fallbrook Branch of the San Diego County Library call (760) 728-2373 or visit the library.
