Holzer creates raised planters for community garden

FALLBROOK – On June 12, Adam Holzer, a member of Boy Scout Troop 725, led a group of more than 30 fellow scouts and adults in the construction of three 4-foot by 16-foot raised planters for the Fallbrook Community Garden. Adam was responsible for all fundraising, planning and construction execution. Each planter was built of 56 cinder blocks and secured with size-four rebar for safety.

The community garden is aimed primarily for people living in apartments, condos, mobile homes, or anyone without enough space to garden on their own property. The area will be irrigated by the conservation district with a small yearly fee to gardeners for the water.
