Still time to register for FBA's rubber raft race

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Beautification Alliance’s (FBA) July 4 celebration and fireworks show held at the Grand Tradition is almost here. Rubber Raft Regatta teams, sponsored by businesses, organizations or individuals, may still register and have the opportunity to win up to $2000 in prize money.

The money raised through the races, along with ticket sales, rubber duck race entries, and proceeds from the silent auction held at the event, will be used by FBA volunteers, throughout the coming year, to enhance Fallbrook. This includes cleaning town statues and murals, planting flowers along Main Street, refurbishing the Mission medians and enhancing local parks.

The entry fee to participate in the rubber raft race is $50 per person, four persons per team/boat ($200 per team). You may register by calling either the Fallbrook Area Visitor Bureau at (760) 451-3282 or Don McDougal at (760) 275-4708. Registration forms are also available on-line at http://www.fallbrookbeautification.org.

Rubber raft, life jackets, and oars provided. The winning purse will be based on 50 percent of the entry fees collected, with the maximum number of boat entries capped at 20. The competition is open to anyone attending the July 4th celebration.

Go to http://www.fallbrookbeautification.org for additional information about the event, to download a race registration and purchase online event tickets and rubber duck race chances. The gates to the celebration will open at 4 p.m. with the Rubber Raft Regatta scheduled to begin at approximately 5 p.m. There will be no admittance after 8 p.m.
