Also serving the communities of De Luz, Rainbow, Camp Pendleton, Pala and Pauma

Dear Mr. MacNeil (Army Corps of Engineers),

Please deny the application for the Gregory Canyon Landfill.

This project has the very real potential to cause devastating and unmitigatable contamination to the San Luis Rey watershed, which is home to many protected species and vegetation.

The San Luis Rey River provides a water source for local communities. Contamination from this project could be detrimental to the health and safety of the citizens that depend on this safe water source.

The project will gravely impact local roads and highways which already have a dangerous and deadly history. Although some local road/highway improvements are planned, after completion, these roads are still projected to continue to work at the lowest level of performance. The additional traffic from this project will further exacerbate this situation, making the roads even more dangerous.

The necessity for this landfill has not been proven.

The location for this landfill has not been proven to be environmentally superior to other potential locations.
