Bonsall coach donates new uniforms

BONSALL – This year’s Sullivan Middle School girls’ basketball team achieved their best record in several years. The Falcons finished with 9 wins and 7 losses, making it to the playoffs for the first time in seven years. They also beat the Potter Junior High team for the first time in seven years. The victory was significant to Coach Bob Tucker because Sullivan’s team includes sixth and seventh graders since they don’t have enough eighth graders playing to fill the team.

Because the team’s uniforms were 11 years old and worn out, Bob Tucker decided to use his coaching stipend to buy new uniforms for them. An avocado farmer and flower grower, Tucker has been coaching National Junior Basketball teams for seven years. He coached the Falcons this school year since his daughter Hailey was on the team. Next season, the basketball team will have a new coach to go with their new uniforms.
