Vehicle accident causes power outage for over 700 homes in Fallbrook, DeLuz and Pendleton

SAN DIEGO - According to SDG&E’s website, crews are currently making repairs to a power pole on East Mission, west of Santa Margarita. Estimated restoration time is 2 p.m. today.

SAN DIEGO - A total of 1,675 San Diego Gas & Electric customers -- from North County to southeast San Diego -- were without power early today due to a series of blackouts.

A vehicle crashed into a power pole, causing the first outage at 6:20 p.m. Sunday. A total of 752 customers in De Luz, Fallbrook and southeast Camp Pendleton lost power, according to SDG&E, which estimated service would be restored there by 6 a.m.

At 9:47 p.m. Sunday, 647 customers in the Paradise Hills, Skyline and Bay Terraces neighborhoods lost service, apparently because of a problem with underground electrical system, SDG&E reported.

Power was restored to all but 29 customers in the area by 4 a.m. The remaining were expected to have power restored by 8 a.m.

The third and final outage occurred at 12:22 a.m., affecting 276 customers in the Granite Hills area. SDG&E restored service to all but 100 by 4 a.m., with the rest expected to be restored by 8 a.m.

The cause was believed to be linked to another underground electrical system.
