Doss named girls soccer MVP

April Doss was named the most valuable player of Fallbrook High School’s girls soccer team.

The senior goalie earned the award at the team’s post-season banquet March 26 at the Fallbrook Golf Club. The awards were selected through a vote of the team’s players.

“I think the girls got it right with choosing April,” said Fallbrook coach Kevin Koptieff. “She kept us in the game numerous times.”

Senior defender and midfielder Natalie Gasca was selected as the team’s Most Inspirational recipient.

“Natalie showed up to every training session, every game, with a smile on her face ready to play,” Koptieff said. “She was always willing to go out on the field and give it her all.”

Senior defender Leo Rojas was honored with the Most Improved award.

“Leo was by far the most improved. She fought all year for a spot, and when I put her on the field she worked harder than a lot of girls out there to try to keep that spot,” Koptieff said.
