Fallbrook's Kent Allison wins two Emmys for films

FALLBROOK – ARK FILMS’ Kent Allison, a Fallbrook native, and Patricia Thio won two Emmys from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

“Armed for the Challenge” won in the documentary-cultural category. First-time-nominated winners Patricia Thio, producer/director, and Kent Allison, co-director/director of photography, created this project about Willie Stewart - a man of steel, and, yes, carbon fiber, who is set to defy his physical limits while training for the physically challenged triathlon USA championships.

In the human-interest category, the Academy awarded an Emmy to “PossAbilities,” also produced and directed by Patricia Thio, who used Kent Allison as director of photography and ARK FILMS as the production team. In the film, four “PossAbilities” members share their take on life after their injuries. From normal, good lives to broken dreams, they discovered that despite how people treat them, they can still achieve their goals - they just have to do it differently.

ARK FILMS, a San Diego-based film and media production company, conceptualizes and produces commercials, music videos, corporate media, and television. ARK FILMS’ most recent project was a series of 184 episodes of “Top Chef University” for NBC/Bravo/Food Network.
