Laura Fay (Uhrhammer) White

Laura Fay (Uhrhammer) White was born in Minnesota Feb. 4, 1912 and passed away July 19, 2010 at age 98 surrounded by family.

She grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm and came to Calif. in 1934 where she met David White. They were married in 1936 and soon began their lemon and avocado ranch on a part of David’s old family homestead on Live Oak Park Road.

Fay was preceded in death by her husband David and five siblings. She is survived by children Judith Schober, Fallbrook; Mary Oyler, Grants Pass, Oregon; Harry White of Union, Oregon; grandchildren Micheale White, Pauma Valley; Charles Schober, Fallbrook; Kenneth Schober, Pauma Valley; great-grandchildren David and Guy White; Matt, Josh, Jessica, Adam, John, Ben, Elsa and Abby Schober; and great-great-grandchild Elija White.

Fay was active in church (a charter member of St. Stephen Lutheran), Farm Bureau, Reche Club, and Fallbrook Historical Society. She worked at the old lemon packing house and at Robyn Sykking’s Ceramics. She enjoyed oil painting, gardening, and her family. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. August 5, 2010 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 1636 E. Mission Road, Fallbrook. Any donations may be made on her behalf to Fallbrook Hospice or St. Stephen memorial fund. No flowers please.
