Safe Streets Now program has helped us tremendously

We have so many stresses these days; from global economics to wars, all the way down to local things we allow to be perpetrated upon us. In all these things, we also have happy times, things to appreciate and keep our lives moving ahead. The Village News does a great job of keeping these things to the forefront for us every week.

Fallbrook has embraced a California program called “Safe Streets Now.” This program teaches us how to take our streets and neighborhoods back from unsafe conditions and situations and make them safe for our families.

“Safe Streets Now” is a great help available to us through our local Sheriff’s Substation. Mr. John McLelland and the detectives and deputies there have worked miracles for our street. Our deputy pool has grown considerably in just the last few years plus Fallbrook has had the assistance of additional deputies rotated in for special situations.

We went to Mr. McLelland regarding one issue; he had us gather together and listened to all of our issues. He attended meetings with us, advising us of what to do. He brought a lot of frightened residents out from behind their closed doors. He listened to all of us and took the information back to the Sheriff’s office where they jumped in to help. These professionals knew how to work behind the scenes to tackle our issues. If you have a problem in your corner of Fallbrook, I urge you to give Mr. McLelland a call.
