Hisses, hooves, and horticulture represented at 5th annual Artspeaks art show

FALLBROOK - Five artists will once again hit the walls of Pinnell Gallery in downtown Fallbrook to present their latest visions at the 5th annual Artspeaks art show, which opens Saturday, August 21 with the artists in attendance from 5 to 7 p.m.

Artists Marj Linton and Carrie Repking will exhibit works from the world of horticulture.

Linton and Repking, each well-known California painters, have a mysterious take on the plant world.

Neill Ketchum is painting and printing wild horses for the show and is donating one of her horse paintings to Falcon Ridge Equine Rescue in Valley Center through a silent auction during the show’s run.

RoseAnne Sobhow, a printmaker and painter, will bring her insights of big cats. Sobhow has long been fascinated by the cats and alarmed by their precarious, future existence.

Nan Bushley will grace the show with woodturnings. Bushley has taught and turned for years and her works range from abstract wood sculpture to fine utilitarian pieces.

The public is invited to join the artists for the opening evening at Pinnell Gallery, 240 N. Main Ave., Fallbrook. Call (760) 728-8870 for more information or visit
