Annual Cleanup/Recycling Day scheduled for Sept. 25

FALLBROOK – September 25 is the date Keep Fallbrook Clean and Green will hold its annual community-wide Clean Up/Recycling Day in conjunction with the county-wide/state-wide clean up scheduled by I Love a Clean San Diego, the California Coastkeeper, and the California Coastal Commission.

Fallbrook residents will have an opportunity to help with clean up activities around town as well as to participate in a number of recycling events. They can recycle their E-waste, have their computer hard-drive “destroyed” before recycling, shred old paperwork, turn in cell phones for “minutes for soldiers,” dispose of used household batteries and dispose of car and industrial batteries.

All these activities, except for the car/industrial battery event, will take place in the large dirt lot in the 1600 block of South Mission Road at Pepper Tree Lane between 9 a.m. and noon. The car/industrial battery event will take place during the same hours at BP Batteries at 805 E. Mission Road.

This year’s CleanUp is one week later than usual because of the state/national/international conflict with a religious holiday. The entire world will participate in cleanup activities all on the same day - September 25. So do plan to join in!

Also new this year is the location of the event. The downtown parking lot where the cleanup has traditionally been held now has restricted space because of the new library construction. So this year’s event will take place at the dirt lot located at the northeast corner of Pepper Tree Lane and South Mission Road.

Further details on all these events will be publicized in the next few weeks.
