Oceanside girl escapes attempted kidnapping, provides clues leading to arrest

CARLSBAD - A North County man was jailed today for allegedly trying to abduct a 14-year-old Oceanside girl last spring as she was walking home from school.

Detectives arrested George McKesson, 53, outside his Carlsbad apartment and took him to Vista Jail to be booked on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, stalking, possession of methamphetamine and committing a felony while out on bail, according to police.
