SAN DIEGO - A wildfire today near Camp Pendleton in the Cleveland National Forest spread to six acres before being contained, a forest official said.
The blaze was reported at 4:50 p.m. at Tenaja Road and Forest Route.
By 7:30 p.m., the fire was fully contained at about six acres, said Celeste Prescott of the Cleveland National Forest.
''They were able to stop the forward spread with retardant,'' Prescott said. ''That allowed them to secure the structures, because initially structures were threatened, so we did not have to do any evacuations.''
