SAN DIEGO - A heat wave is expected to hit Southern California this week, and the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Tuesday and Wednesday (Aug. 24-25, when near-record temperatures are possible.
High pressure building over the desert Southwest will bring three to four days of hot weather, with Tuesday and Wednesday being the hottest, when triple-digit highs will be common across the valleys and foothills, according to the Weather Service. Cooler weather is expected at the weekend.
