Helicopter up searching for juvenile

Sheriff's detectives are still on the lookout for a 16-year-old male who has a warrant for car theft, said commanding officer Lt. Mike Barnett.

On Wednesday, Sept. 15, the Sheriff's Dept. ASTREA helicopter flew over Gumtree Lane, Live Oak Park Rd., and Alvarado Street for the juvenile offender, whose warrant is from Riverside County.

"While we haven't caught him yet, we will soon," declared Barnett.

Shortly after 2 p.m. this afternoon the Sheriff's Dept. ASTREA helicopter began searching the area of Gumtree Lane, Live Oak Park Road, and Alvarado Street for a juvenile offender.

"Deputies spotted a juvenile that is wanted for a probation violation in that area and he took off on foot; they are trying to locate him," said Lt. Mike Munsey of the Sheriff's Communication Center in San Diego.

"This particular juvenile has given deputies the slip a couple of times before and he is currently wanted for a violation so they are conducting a search for him."
