Les Miserables opens Sept. 17 in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK – The wait is finally over for Les Miserables, the eight-time Tony Award winning musical that has thrilled audiences around the world. This exhilarating musical voyage runs September 17 through October 3 at the Mission Theatre in Fallbrook.

“We are thrilled to bring this musical masterpiece to Fallbrook,” said Jane Stimmel, producer of the Fallbrook Players production. “This is a unique production created solely for the intimate space of the Mission Theatre.”

“Director Stephen Knoll-Gentry is challenging the audience to become part of the story, experience this piece emotionally and to understand this epic tale as never before. This has been a very emotional and growing experience for our actors as well. All of our actors are playing multiple roles so this has been a very challenging and gratifying experience for them.”

Les Miserables is based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel about ex-convict Jean Valjean and his attempts to start a new life as he is pursued relentlessly by policeman Javert over decades through the tumult of revolutionary France.

This blockbuster musical also showcases a Tony Award-winning score including the songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Do You Hear the People Sing?,” “One Day More,” “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,” “A Little Fall of Rain,” “Master of the House,” and “On My Own.”

Les Miserables features a book by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and music by Claude-Michel Schönberg.

Tickets are available online at or at the Mission Theatre Box Office. It is strongly suggested that tickets be purchased early, as Fallbrook Players’ productions typically sell out.
