Village Rotary donates funds for La Paloma playground

FALLBROOK – Gordon Stone of the Fallbrook Village Rotary contacted La Paloma School Principal Lea Curcio to find out how the club could help the school. Curcio identified the playground as their area of greatest need.

With the realignment of the elementary school district, older children were assigned to La Paloma. The existing playground equipment was worn out, and would not support the use older children would subject it to, so more durable play ground equipment was needed.

Rotary International has come up with a new program that allows the Rotary District to match funds with a club to a maximum of $4,000. In this case the Fallbrook Village Rotary Club Foundation put up $4,000 which was matched by the District with another $4,000, for a total of $8,000. This was sufficient to purchase and install the requested playground equipment at La Paloma.
