Maggy Youd

Maggy Youd passed away on October 3, 2010. She was born January 23, 1941, in Blackpool, England. Maggy came to the United States in 1963 and worked at a riding and racing stable in the San Fernando Valley. She had a life long passion for horses and art.

In 1969 Maggy met renowned glass blowing artist, John Burton. She was invited to apprentice with him. A teaching position followed at Pepperdine University in glass blowing. Maggy’s work was exhibited at the Laguna Arts Festival as well as several galleries from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles.

Maggy retired to Fallbrook in 1990. She will be missed by her family many friends and acquaintances. Maggy is survived by a brother, Mike Youd in England; niece Nici in Australia; and nephew Chris in England. By family request, in lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
