FALLBROOK – On Saturday, Oct. 23, locals will be able to enjoy Willson and McKee, two performers whose voices are enhanced by the music of hammer dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, guitars, Irish bouzouki, bodhran, Celtic harp and accordion. Their stories are set to music and lots of fun.
The duo tours nationally specializing in original and traditional Irish and Scottish music which they call Rocky Mountain Celtic – what Celtic becomes when it settles comfortably in the west, taking on influences of Montana and Colorado.
Willson and McKee won four top honors at the International Songwriting Competition and the Milwaukee Irish Festival, the largest festival of its kind. In addition, McKee was named national dulcimer champion in 2002.
“Our audiences frequently ask for an encore but they very rarely give a quick standing ovation the way they did recently. The blend of music and performing style was excellent,” said a concert organizer at Caltech in Pasadena.
The performance will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fallbrook Woman’s Club, 238 W. Mission Road. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for kids 7-17, and are sold at Major Market and the door. Call (760) 723-7255 for more information.
