Man pleads guilty in drunk driving crash that killed Marine and Fallbrook woman

VISTA - An 18-year-old man who caused a chain-reaction crash that killed a Marine and a young Fallbrook woman pleaded guilty today to gross vehicular manslaughter, drunken driving and other charges.

Oscar Tinoco faces more than 19 years in state prison when he is sentenced by Judge Aaron Katz on Dec. 10, said Deputy District Attorney Jodi Breton.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the chain of events began about 4 a.m. on Oct. 10, 2009, when a sedan rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee carrying four Marines on Interstate 15, near Gopher Canyon Road.
