Vanderlans wins Preston rodeo

Jack VanderLans won the Tie-Down Roping at That Famous Preston Night Rodeo.

The 2001 Fallbrook High School graduate had a time of 8.2 seconds during the July 30 morning slack of the July 29-31 rodeo in Preston, Idaho.

"I drew well," VanderLans said.

Nate Baldwin placed second with a time of 8.3 seconds while Whit Cross was third with a run of 8.5 seconds. Both had competed prior to VanderLans. "That didn't leave a whole lot of room for error," VanderLans said.
