Conflict and concerns continue around South Vine Street - One year later

Almost exactly one year ago, on Oct. 17, 2009, San Diego County Supervisor Bill Horn and Sheriff Bill Gore swung the first hammers to destroy a wall in the 1100 block of South Vine Street in Fallbrook that had been shielding an area known for high incidences of gang-related crime. Since then, Sheriff’s deputies have increased their surveillance of the area and made significant arrests, but a struggle remains in squelching the gang problem.
