On Oct. 3, we were on a nice scenic drive from our home on Sleeping Indian through De Luz into Temecula. On the road from Mission to De Luz we were suddenly in a short line of cars led by a Sheriff’s vehicle going very slowly. We couldn’t figure out what the problem was when we rounded a corner and saw the Sheriff had been herding two large dogs, a beautiful Akita and a huge Newfoundland, along the road safely into a driveway.
The dogs were exhausted and certainly would have been hit if the Sheriff’s deputy had not been on their tails.
