Warriors win water polo's San Diego Fall Classic

Fallbrook High School’s boys water polo team won the San Diego Fall Classic tournament played September 23 through 25.

The Warriors outscored their five opponents by a combined margin of 74-29. “It kind of gave us a sense that we can be a pretty strong contender,” said Fallbrook coach Bob Lamont. “If we do what we’re supposed to do, we can be competitive.”

The Warriors’ season-opening tournament, the Sept. 9 to 11 Poway Invitational, produced a 3-2 record for Fallbrook. The Warriors then lost a 14-11 match Sept. 14 at Great Oak despite leading 7-5 at halftime.
