Now that the North County Fire has weighed in on the future alignment of Highway 76, it should clear the way for the existing alignment to be improved.

It sounds like, according to the NCFD report, that the northern route will work for them. It is also clear that Caltrans has listened and made improvements in the route so that the people north of the highway will have adequate access to the new highway and the fire department will have adequate access to the area north of the highway.

Why tear up unimproved land, maybe close down a thriving business (Vessel’s Ranch) and spend a lot more money...
