CIF reduces wrestling threshold for post-season activity

The California Interscholastic Federation’s (CIF) San Diego Section has a rule requiring athletes in individual-competition sports to participate in a certain number of contests in order to be eligible for post-season tournaments. On October 26 the CIF Board of Managers approved a reduction in the required number of wrestling matches from 21 to 10.

“That’s good news, very good news,” said Fallbrook High School wrestling coach Greg Wagaman. “This is a really big deal. We’re happy to see it.”
