Quilters' holiday festivities include thread painting

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Quilt Guild will meet Thursday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m., for its regular business meeting followed by a holiday buffet provided by the members and a visit from Santa. The group meets at the Fallbrook Community Center,

341 Heald Lane.

On the following Saturday, Dec. 4, a workshop, “Thread Painting 101” will be presented by Phyllis Binkley. The workshop teaches students how to do free motion stitching around all the parts of the landscape quilt. Students will learn how to enhance the design by using free motion stitches in a variety of ways to add interest, textures and details. These techniques are also useful for traditional appliqué quilters.

Membership for the Fallbrook Quilt Guild is open to anyone interested in the art of quilting. For further information regarding membership, contact Ruby Hoffman at (760) 728-7504.

For information regarding the workshop, contact Program Chair Elvia Dawson at (951) 694-8023 or [email protected].
