San Jacinto Unified School District board member indicted resigns

SAN JACINTO - A San Jacinto Unified School District board member indicted in a criminal probe last year resigned her post, just as her husband's City Council term expired.

Nancy Ayres resigned Thursday, the last day of her husband Jim Ayres' San Jacinto City Council service, The Press-Enterprise reported

Jim Ayres and three other councilmen were recalled in the Nov. 2 election, prompted by the same 155-count criminal indictment. All have pleaded not guilty.

The City Council certified the election Thursday, and four new council members were sworn-in that night.
