While doing a routine patrol of Interstate 15 last week, a Fallbrook deputy made an observation that led to the discovery of a man transporting five kilograms of cocaine with a street value of over $400,000.
“That’s a lot of drugs off the street,” said Lt. Mike Barnett, commander of the Fallbrook Sheriff’s substation. Barnett said, according to the San Diego Integrated Narcotics Task Force, “Cocaine is generally sold on the street level in quantities of one gram for $80-100 each. That means the street value of the five kilograms seized was worth between $400,000 and $500,000.”
