RMWD plans to increase fixed rate charges

The Rainbow Municipal Water District (RMWD) board of directors recently approved to consider revising the ratio of fixed monthly rates to the district’s commodity rates to cover expenses.

The agenda item was presented at the board’s December 7 meeting after being recommended by the budget and finance committee, which after its meeting on November 7, stated that a $1.9 million deficit shown in the first three months of waters sales necessitates an increase in the fixed rates.
