Re: 'The crumbling of Main Street shops' [Letter, Village News, 12/16/10]

In response to Joyce Brazel’s letter: Joyce, we had three bookstores that I can remember, Village Books, Book Nook and the used bookstore under Phil Arnold’s office. They are all out of business; people wouldn’t support them.

We had a music store next to the theater last year, ditto.

I could name a long list of great businesses that have bit the dust, including Finnegan’s, Grandma’s, Fallbrook Grocery, Paradise Jewelers, Lace Apron, Scampi’s, The Westerner, Port’s, Nickerson’s Nursery, Lavender Dreams, Ericksons, At Home on Main, JJ’s Beach and Board Shop, Hunts Auto Parts, and Jasmine Rose.
