Snow and winter weather advisory today; rest of week fair weather

RIVERSIDE and SAN DIEGO COUNTIES - Rain continued to fall on already saturated ground today, but fairer weather was expected for the rest of the week, according to meteorologists.

The National Weather Service advised that moderate to heavy snow also was likely in the mountains today, with 2 to 4 inches below 5,000 feet, 4 to 6 inches above 5,000 feet and up to 8 inches above 7,000 feet possible.
