SAN DIEGO - A Marine killed Monday, Jan. 3 in an alleged drunken driving crash on Interstate 805 was identified today as a 19-year-old from Pierce, Wash., who was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
Lance Cpl. Andrew Tjhung was a passenger in a black 2008 Ford Ranger that spun out in northbound lanes at or near the Interstate 8 junction and crashed into a parked tow truck about 2:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and the USMC.
Tjhung was declared dead at the scene, and the driver, a 19-year fellow Marine identified as Joel Thomas Toovey, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving,...
