New Stake President of Latter-day Saints Church is Fallbrook resident

VISTA - On Sunday, May 20, a special Vista California Stake Conference was held in the Vista Stake building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and broadcast to the Fallbrook building. Under the direction of Elder Patrick Kearon, a member of the Seventy and Elder W. Mark Bassett, an area Seventy, a new stake presidency was called to the Vista California Stake.

Mark H. Ballif, of Fallbrook, was called to be President; C. Tum Vongsawad, 1st Counselor; and Samuel B. Penrod, 2nd Counselor. They were sustained for their positions at the conference.

Elder Kearon thanked President Paul M. Hatch, 1st Counselor Richard W. Holladay, of Fallbrook, 2nd Counselor Jesus A. Martinez, and their spouses for their faithful service.

The outgoing stake president and his counselors spoke and gave thanks for the opportunity they had to serve. The incoming stake president and his counselors bore their testimonies.

After the installation of the presidency, Elder Bassett and Elder Kearon gave talks of encouragement to the new stake presidency and to the stake congregation. Interspersed throughout the meeting was choir music by the Vista Stake Choir, under the direction of Beverly Taylor.
