FALLBROOK – Fallbrook High School's girls tennis team will be conducting tryouts on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 20 and 21, at the high school courts, from 2 to 4 p.m. Girls interested in trying out need to come both days. Tryouts are held jointly for the varsity and junior varsity teams. The season begins at the start of the school year and continues until early November for varsity, and late October for junior varsity.
Last year, the tennis team won the East Avocado league title with an undefeated record. Under the coaching of varsity coach, Dave Ramirez, one of their players, Monica Robinson, advanced to the San Diego County CIF singles final, and is presently ranked nationally in the top 50.
Girls interested in trying out are required to have turned in their athletic packets to the school prior to tryouts. The packet can be downloaded from the school's website by clicking on the tab for the athletic department. Questions may be addressed to the junior varsity coach, Randy Hicks, at (760) 468-4700.
