Pet of the week

Harley, an American bulldog/pit bull, is now up for adoption. He was found a couple of months ago in the De Luz area, skin over bones and no able to stand up. He had to be hospitalized for awhile before he could be transferred to the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary.

It looked like he had been used as a bait dog for dog fights, as his teeth had been filed down. His is estimated to be 8 years old, is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date with his shots. He is good with other dogs, people, and children. Cats are probably not a problem either. More than likely he is housetrained.

Harley loves to play with a ball! He can be seen on You Tube by searching for "Harley plays ball in Wizza's park."

Because of his past, he needs to be fed separate from other dogs, due to food aggression.

The sanctuary is also looking for volunteer dog walkers and helpers in the cattery. The walking of dogs is also very good for people's health, so the knife cuts on both ends: volunteers work on their health and give the animals a good time!

For more information, call the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary (760) 685-3533 and come over to meet Harley at 232 W. Aviation Rd.
