Free electronic waste recycling event benefits at-risk kids

FALLBROOK –– A free electronic waste recycling event will be hosted by Community Outreach Ministry from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 16 and 17, at Albertson’s, 1133 S. Mission Road in Fallbrook.

E-waste is any consumer electronic equipment that has reached its “end-of-life” or “end-of-usage,” whether in full or nonworking condition. It includes most electronics or electronic appliances with a cord or circuit board.

Those items include computer monitors, television sets, personal computer systems, printers, laptops, copiers, scanners, fax machines, VCR,VCD and DVD players and both landline and cellular phones.

There is a $5 service fee for microwave ovens.
