Local artist Dixon Fish creates magical windows

FALLBROOK – Dixon Fish has created six magical windows for the Fallbrook Art Center shows in 2017. These include Reflections of Nature Wildlife Show, Art of Sport, the Artist's Guild Show, the Find Magnified, the Galaxy of Glass and the currently running show, Art of The Holiday.

Fish earned a master of fine arts degree from Arizona State University and taught studio art, art history and photography at El Capitan High School in Lakeside, Calif. He also taught at Arizona State University and Grossmont College.

Much of his creative time has been spent doing theatre set design and scenic painting for a variety of professional regional theatres. His art and design work has been recognized with awards both regionally and nationally. He is also a juried member of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society.

Fish commented, "Working on these window designs brings me full circle. Now that I am not doing much scenic design, the opportunity to return to designing window displays seemed like a natural combination of my past experiences."

Fish designs the windows for the art center as a volunteer, satisfying his interest in the advertising principles of attracting attention and generating sales. He added, "It's also just fun to let my imagination go wild on a large scale, as the art center window is the largest display space in Fallbrook."

Look for some more magical windows from Fish in 2018.

It is not too late to get unique Christmas gifts at the Art of the Holiday show which is open through Dec. 24. Admission and parking are free, 103 S. Main at Alvarado. The center is open daily, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays, noon to 3 p.m.
