Horses, Hats & Hope Kentucky Derby Party Benefit returns for second year

FALLBROOK – REINS Therapeutic Horsemanship Program and Foundation for Senior Care will host their second annual Horses, Hats & Hope event Saturday, May 5. The event will feature a live streaming of NBC's coverage of the 144th Kentucky Derby on a giant jumbo screen. Ladies are invited to wear stylish hats, and derby attire is requested for the gentlemen as there will be a contest with prizes for "Best Hat" and "Best Dressed Gent."

"We are so excited to once again be collaborating with the Foundation for Senior Care to help strengthen the community support and bring awareness to the services we provide for both seniors and disabled children and adults." REINS Executive Director Debbie Shinner said.

"Horses, Hats & Hope is going to be a beautiful day spent in celebration of the Derby and raising funds for two fabulous nonprofits that provide services to the young, the disabled and to the elderly," Rachel Mason, Foundation for Senior Care executive director, said.

Guests will enjoy Cinco de Mayo fare by Casa Estrella, craft beer courtesy of Mike Hess Brewing, margaritas and festive mint juleps. Bourbon and tequila bars will be on-site, offering complimentary tastings to attendees. Other festivities include race day raffles; guests will be able to pick their favorite horse and have a chance to win prize baskets. Prize packages will be awarded for "Win," "Place" and "Show" of each race. New this year will be a Derby Dice Game; attendees race against each other to reach the finish line for a prize.

The event is for adults over 18 years of age and will be held at REINS, 4461 S. Mission Road, in Fallbrook. Tickets are $75 each and include a catered lunch. VIP Tickets are $90 and include a commemorative glass and unlimited drinks. Parking is free.
