San Diego County Library announces most checked out items

FALLBROOK – The San Diego County Library presented the lists of the top 10 checked out items in each category for the month of February.

For Adult Fiction, the top 10 most checked out books are “The Late Show” by Michael Connelly, “Camino Island” by John Grisham, “Y is for Yesterday” by Sue Grafton, “The Whistler” by John Grisham, “The Fix” by David Baldacci, “Into the Water” by Paula Hawkins, “Murder Games” by James Patterson, “The Rooster Bar” by John Grisham, “The Woman in Cabin 10” by Ruth Ware and “No Middle Name” by Lee Child.

For Adult Nonfiction, these were the top 10 most checked out books: “Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood” by Trevor Noah, “Hillbilly Elegy: a memoir of a family and culture in crises” by J.D. Vance, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up: the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing” by Marie Kondo, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” by Michael Wolff, “Afoot and Afield San Diego County” by Jerry Schad, “Hidden Figures” by Margot Lee Shetterly, “One-Pan Wonders” by Cook’s Country, “What Happened” by Hillary Rodham Clinton, “Alexander Hamilton” by Ron Chernow and “The Whole30” by Melissa Hartwig.

Movies were checked out frequently, including “The Mummy,” “Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2,” “Alien Covenant, “Captain Underpants,” “The Circle,” “Meagan Leavey,” “Going in Style,” “Ghost in the Shell,” “King Arthur Legend of the Sword” and “A Dog’s Purpose.”

The top 10 children’s books were “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series by Jeff Kinney, “Elephant and Piggie Books” by Mo Willems, “Moana Finds the Way” by Susan Amerikaner, “Dog Man Unleashed” by Dav Pilkey, “Wonder by R. J. Palacio, “Big Nate” by Lincoln Peirce, “Ocean of Color” by Bill Scollon, “Harry Potter” series by J. K. Rowling, “Captain Underpants” by Dav Pilkey and “Ten Apples up on Top” by Dr. Seuss. The kid’s series were grouped together so there would be something other than “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” on the list.
