Rasta Paw Reggae and Arts Festival approaches May 19

FALLBROOK – The music and arts community of Fallbrook will get together, 1-9 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at the Rasta Paw Reggae and Arts Festival at Casa Estrella Cocina De Mexico, 3757 South Mission Road, in Fallbrook.

Rob Eldon of Fluid Foundation has put together a dynamite roster of talent with reggae bands and special guests. According to Eldon, the event is a great way to kick off the summer and give back to the animal programs.

The event features music, live art, local artists and vendors, silent auction and great food and libations. All proceeds benefit the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary, the Fallbrook Rider's Field and SNAP, the neuter scooter.

The event will be held at Casa Estrella's outdoor venue. The Estrella family have been supporters of the local nonprofit animal programs. Carlos and Frankie Estrella, managers of Casa Estrella, said they are happy to provide their support by donating the venue. Attendees can choose to dine in or purchase a meal and drinks from the taco bar and margarita bar outside. Carlos Estrella and his Presa Canario, Kilo, just took an off-the-grid vacation together that he said was one of the best experiences of his life.

Karen Estes and Teddie Borges are back on board from last years 1 Love Reggae and Art Festival, organizing the sponsors, vendors, silent auction, ticket sales and volunteers. Both are passionate about animals and giving back to the various animal programs in the community, they said.

During the performances, artist Cameron Schuyler will be doing a live painting that will be available to bid on later in the evening. Guests will be able to purchase items from the vendors and bid on items at the silent auction.

Artists are welcome to purchase a vendor space or put up an easel; donation appreciated. Sponsorships and vendor booths are still available.

Tickets are $45 for general admission and $65 for VIP with early entry and a goody bag. Sponsorships are $500 and include four drink and meal tickets, an early entry for a meet and greet with performers, artists, vendors and a check of the silent auction items. Sponsors will have reserved seating, receive a goody bag and have wait staff attending throughout the show. Sponsorships and donations may be tax deductible.

Festival hours are 1 to 9 p.m., with sponsors and VIP ticket holders allowed to enter at noon. An after hours party for those 21 and older will be held 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. and will be free to festival attendees with wristband. Others can pay $10 to attend the party.
