Fallbrook couple relishes their 1955 Chevy Bel Air

FALLBROOK – Allyson and Kyle Haldi, owners of Haldi Construction, have emotional ties to their 1955 Chevy Bel Air, which they entered in the Goodguys 18th Meguiar's Del Mar Nationals in April. The couple picked up the car as a project after moving to Fallbrook in 1995, they said.

"It was in OK condition but set up high like a gasser," Kyle Haldi said. "I had to lower it back to its original stance and redo the paint, chrome and upholstery."

Allyson Haldi added that the car had a story behind it.

"We had to sell the car to send our daughter to Vanguard University in Costa Mesa," Allyson Haldi said. "Years later the guy we sold it to called and asked if we wanted it back. The answer was 'yes,' of course, and we got it back with only about another 100 miles on it since we sold it."
