Fallbrook Pregnancy Resource Center to host 'Hats in the Garden'

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Pregnancy Resource Center will host the fourth annual "Hats in the Garden," 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19. The fun, fanciful tea and silent auction will benefit the center's educational programs which empower young women and moms-to-be through education and supportive relationships and provide needed resources for their babies, up to age 2.

Last year, 38 babies were born to moms in their programs, and 624 educational classes were offered. Over 2,676 free resources were provided such as diapers, formula, baby furniture, strollers, high chairs, etc.

The speaker at this year's Hats in the Garden is Sarah Jensen-Elhoff, director of Adoption Center of San Diego. Jensen-Elhoff is a certified open adoption practitioner by the National Federation for Open Adoption. She is a board member of Agnes Del Foundation – Lamb of God Maternity Home and served the Adoption Coalition of San Diego. At the event, Jensen-Elhoff will share an adoption story, in partnership with the Adoption Center of San Diego, between an FPRC client and birth mother and the adopting mother.

The tea and auction will be hosted at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane, in Fallbrook. Cost is $20 per person with children 10 and under free. Reservations include lunch and an auction number. Tables seat eight guests, and sponsorships and underwriting are available. Groups are welcome. Seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Auction donations are tax deductible and will be accepted until May 9. Items already donated include, but are not limited to, original art and handwork from local artists and shops and enchanting gift baskets and gift certificates featuring tea, coffee, chocolate, wine, literature, beauty care, cooking, family fun, photography, home decor, collector items, theater tickets, holidays, health and of course, hats.

To donate an auction item or to make a reservation, contact Carolyn Koole at (760) 728-4105 or [email protected].
