Esther Padilla Johnson

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, Esther Padilla Johnson, on April 26, 2018 at the age of 91 in the home that she loved in Fallbrook.

Esther was born on July 12, 1926 in Los Angeles, Calif. She attended Garfield High School in East Los Angeles. At the age of 18 she worked for the Army Corps of Engineers until the war was over. She then worked for Given Mfg. where she met Eric "Roy" Johnson, her future husband. Roy preceded her, passing away in 2009. They were married for 54 years.

Esther and Roy were very active in the Fallbrook community. Esther was part of the auxiliary at Fallbrook Hospital for over 30 years. Both Esther and Roy were active in the Fallbrook VFW Post 1924, joining in 1996; he became a lifetime member and she was a member of the auxiliary.

Esther is survived by her nieces, two cousins, a grandson and a granddaughter.

The family would welcome donations to the VFW Post 1924 in her memory.
