William Frederick Trachsel

William Frederick Trachsel lived July 16, 1939 to March 22, 2018. Born in Glendale, California, Bill grew up in Van Nuys, California, attended Valley and Pierce colleges, joined the Army and was stationed in Germany and France. While serving, he traveled Europe and conducted tours on the Rhine River.

In Copenhagen, Denmark, he met and later married Karen, his wife of 30 years. They raised two children, Robby and Tiffany Trachsel.

As commander at a Los Angeles Police Department, he was selected to attend FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, completing his training in 1976. He attended the University of California Los Angeles, earning a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, graduating with honors.

After leaving law enforcement, he owned a photographic studio in Westlake Village, doing weddings, portraits, commercials, advertising layouts and photographs of TV and movies for the motion picture industry.

In 1988, he moved his family to Fallbrook where he joined Dean Witter as an investment broker

Leaving behind family and friends who loved him, Bill Trachsel will be buried at sea.
